A bag, a tag and a card

I have two projects to share with you today that were posted in my favorite companies' blogs previously. The first one is a bag and matching tag for Want2Scrap©. I altered a plain gift bag an made it pretty using Graphic 45 papers, Want2Scrap Nestaboard and Nestabling, Spellbinders dies and The Craft's Meow's Baby Shelf set.
W2S-Bag
Here is the close up of the heart tag. You can find the details on the W2S blog.

The Craft's Meow's February 2013 Release Hop

Welcome to The Craft's Meow's February Release Blog Hop. Thank you for joining us today. If you came from our Guest for this month, Lynn, then you're at the right spot. To see the full list, make sure you visit the TCM blog. I have 2 cards for you today using my two designs being released today, Baby Shelf and Soaring High, this month's Free set with $50 purchase!

My first uses Baby Shelf set, which coordinates with Beautiful Shelf. It uses one of my Polaroid frames that I shared earlier. I stamped and fussy cut the lamp and put against the "wall" and adorned it with some Want2Scrap heart bling. The bear is actually felt.
TCM-Baby-pink
I've always wanted to stamp on felt, so now I have to show you something I learned when doing this. I found that the best inks for this is pigment. You can see the comparison on the crispness of the stamped image using dye ink Memento on the left and the Pigment Versafine on the right. Both inks are by Tsukineko/Imagine Crafts.
Felt
I love the added "fuzziness" of the felt for the teddy bear. The banner is placed there to provide balance. The pearls are by Want2Scrap and paper by Authentique.
TCM-Baby-pink-det
My second card uses my Soaring High stamp set. This is a little bit more formal and elegant. I had to pair the image and sentiment with Spellbinders' new Brackett Borders One dies.
TCM-Symp
Here's a close up...don't you just love how perfectly the bird, sentiment and die cut border fit together? :)

TCM Feb 2013 Previews: Easter Blessings

Welcome to day two of The Craft's Meow's February 2013 Release Previews. Today we're showing one of two sets designed by the talented Karen Baker. The first one is called Easter Blessings that is full of sweet animal silhouettes images and coordinating sentiments.

I highlighted the lamb on my card using the Emboss Resist Technique to sort of give it a lovely glow. I stamped the damask strip on the right from Vintage Clocks set to add interest. A simple twine is a great addition to that strip image.
TCM-Easter-Blessings
The sentiment is from Easter Blessings as well. I accented it with some Want2Scrap bling.

Welcome to the NinaB Designs Blog Hop! The theme of this month's hop is Make it Mini, in honor of February's being a short month. I challenged the team to create a project that is either small (mini-cards, mini-boxes, etc.) and/or intended for someone small (babies, kids, even pets :).

I have three cards for you today. My first card is for a little girl. It's perfect for my three at home :). The house was stamped with TCM's Love Dwells Here set and die cut using Spellbinders Home Sweet Home. The papers are Authentique's Lovely collection.
NBD-1
How do you like that trendy Polaroid frame? I made that using Spellbinders Classic Square dies (tutorial HERE). The sentiment is from TCM's Vintage Rides. The frame is embellished with my Want2Scrap Chevron border bling. The sparkly heart and silver strip are also by Want2Scrap.

My 2nd and 3rd projects are mini cards that you can tuck inside your kids' lunches or send with a gift. The papers are Penny Black Madison. The butterfly and sentiment with it are from PB Free Flight. The fun card on the right uses TCM's Fun{tache}tic. Notice I used one of the mustaches for eyebrows.

How To Make a Polaroid Frame

I'm showing you today how I made the Polaroid frame on my Valentine treats HERE and on my cards on THIS POST. These frames are so trendy right now and they are not hard to make and customize.

What you will need:
  • Spellbinders Classic Square dies - you can use other square dies, but I prefer Spellbinders because they emboss as well.
  • Cardstock
  • Paper cutter OR ruler and scissors
I started with a half of a LTR size cardstock, measuring 4.25" x 11". I taped the large square die to one side, making sure there's room around according to your preferred thickness. I made mine around .25" around. Cut the cardstock to center the die as shown below. Do it again for each frame you want to make. I was able to cut 2 larges, one medium and one small from the half A2 cardstock.
You can leave these as is to make room for more stamping on the bottom.
Or if you're like me, I prefer them to be shorter. For the larger square I cut it at 3.75" lengthwise. For the medium size at 3.25." And I save those little strips of cardstock for sentiment flags in future projects.
Here they are in different sizes, colors and patterns, ready for your projects.
I hope you were inspired to try this. Please leave me a comment if you did and made a project with it.

Inspire and Thank You

Hi, friends. Today's card is using one of the new January release stamps, Crafty Shelf, which coordinates with a previously released set, Beautiful Shelf.

I first stamped the stitched border from Beautiful Shelf with Memento Toffee Crunch ink on kraft cardstock. I used the shelf as a small table on my card and and placed a vase of flowers on it. The "Inspire" sentiment is from Crafty Shelf. I paper pieced the shelf and colored the vase with Copics. The papers are by Basic Grey, the twine is from The Twinery.
TCM-Inspire
Here are the other two butterfly cards that I shared on the SRM blog the other dayThe butterfly is from The Craft's Meow's Beautiful Spring. I colored it with Copic markers. The papers are Pink Paislee. The pearls are by Want2Scrap.The sentiment is from Sickers by the Dozen Thank You.
