2S4Y Thinking of you

I finally got one precious hour to stamp and clean up my desk a little bit today. We've been busy traveling all over the southeast and on the days we're not, I'm usually catching up on laundry and other things. I'm so thankful for my mother-in-law who makes sure we're fell fed while we're in GA, so that's one less thing I have to worry about.

I made this card for my friend, who just found out she has breast cancer. It's devastating news, but I trust in a sovereign God, who is in control of all things. I hope this cute little bird will cheer her up.

I used my Koh-i-noor pencils and a non-toxic brush cleaner I found at Michael's. It's a safer alternative to OMS, which I can't pack in my suitcase. This is the first time I'm using this coloring method and, though I know I still have lots to learn, I'm more than pleased with the results. I love this new GinaK Pure Luxury Red CS. It has a striped texture. The used this week's sketch from 2Sketches4You challenge.

Stamps: So & So Loves (Unity), Trendy Trees (SU)
Ink: Close to Cocoa, Really Red, Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: GKD Red Pure Luxury CS, cream CS
Other: Brown ribbon by Michaels, MS border punch

Bug Me Anytime Winner and a card

The GinaK release party last night was so fun. I hadn't planned to stay the whole time since I had so much laundry to do and we're headed on a road trip again today. But, I just couldn't leave my compter. :-). The new stamps and cards were just fabulous.

Here's a CAS card I made using the Bug Me Anytime stamp set. There are challenges and questions over at the GinaK forum at SCS. Make sure you participate to win some fabulous stamps from GinaK. This card uses Challenge #2 (to make a one layer card with one embellishment) and Challenge #3 (using the pink and brown color combo).

I did the repeat stamping technique (I'm not sure if that's what it's called) where I inked the stamp once and stamped it several times. I drew the outline using the Koh-i-noor brown pencil and the gaps are done by using an eraser.

Stamps: Bug Me Anytime by GinaK
Ink: Pink Passion by SU, Koh-i-Noor pencil
Paper: Pure Luxury White CS by GinaK
Ribbon: Hobby Lobby

And now the winner of the Bug Me Anytime set, according to Random.org is...
#15 Brenda!

Please email me your mailing address and I'll get your stamp in the mail. And I will be mailing the papers from my previous blog candy today too. I'm so sorry for the delay, but we haven't been home more than a day or two. I didn't think we would be this busy, but some things haven't gone as smoothly as I had hoped. But, we're enjoying ourselves.

More Bug Me Anytime Cards

I am still on the road, so excuse me if this is a quick post. I will include the supplies I used later. Here are some more cards using my newest stamp set called Bug Me Anytime. I used the summer, bright color paper pack on these cards. Make sure you leave a comment on my previous post to get a chance to win it.

For the first card, I used Copic markers for the first time! I just got a few to see what the fuss is all about and I must say, I can see myself falling in love with them. The background paper was printed on GinaK Pure Luxury Cream layering wt. paper.

For the second card, I used a sentiment from the latest StampTV kit.

And finally, another simple and quick card. I just love the faces on these bugs.

And don't forget Gina is previewing and giving away more stamps today on her blog. And of course, the release party is on this thread-tonight, June 25th from 7-10 PM Central Time. At 10 PM, 6 new stamp sets, new Pure Luxury card stock (in one very trendy color) and some great new accessories will be available for sale! Gina will be giving away lots of freebies too, including templates and digital papers!

Make sure you leave a comment on my previous post to get a chance to win it.

Bug Me Anytime Previews and a Giveaway

I am so thrilled to share some cards I made using my newest GinaKDesigns stamps called "Bug Me Anytime." I also designed matching paper packs in two color schemes - pastel and bright summer colors. This stamp set includes flowers, cute bugs and sentiments.

For today's cards, I used the paper pack with yummy pastel colors. They coordinate well with SU's So Saffron, Certainly Celery and Pink Pirouette papers. These colors are my current three most favorite colors right now.

For this card, I used the dandelion stamp as border on one side. I just love the look on that snail. And that mushroom is so fun to paper piece.

For this card, I used 3 of the flower images in this set.

This is a quick card using my favorite of the background papers. the sentiment works perfectly well with the paper.

Another quick card using the dandelion to create a background paper. I went monochromatic with this, using Real Red, Pink Passion and Memento Angel Pink inks. The sentiment is from the latest StampTV kit called Eclectic summer sayings.

This card also uses a sentiment from the Eclectic Summer sayings set. I love the simplicity of this card and the color combo is one of my favorites.

Now, do you want to win the Bug Me Anytime stamp set? All you have to do is leave me a comment here. And if you'd like, tell me what your favorite color combo is. Come back tomorrow for more card samples using this new set. I will pick one random winner from the comments from today and will announce the winner on Friday. And don't forget to check out GinaK DT's creations during the blog hop. You can begin at Gina's blog, where you will find all the links to the DTs' blogs and another chance to win more stamp sets.

The release party is on this thread-Thursday, June 25th from 7-10 PM Central Time. At 10 PM, 6 new stamp sets, new Pure Luxury card stock (in one very trendy color) and some great new accessories will be available for sale! Timeless Tuesday Inspirations

For Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge this week, they ask for cards that are inspired by Kim Poloson's gorgeous posters.

The first card is inspired by this. I followed the color scheme, but changed my focal image to this seahorse. Both the seahorse and sentiment are from the latest StampTV kit. I did the rock and roll technique using SU's Read Red and Memento Tuxedo Black on GinaK Pure Luxury Cream CS. The Old Olive "seaweed" is actually a branch stamp from There She Goes' Acts of Kindness set.

The second card is inspired by this poster. I used my well-loved butterfly stamp from Inkadinkadoo. It was stamped in Close To Cocoa on an Urban Prairie (by Basic Grey) paper. The swirls stamp is from the Sept KOTM from Unity. The sentiment is from Trendy Trees by SU. The lace is one I found laying around and I just love its vintage look. The cardstock and ribbon are Aquamist by PTI.

Inspiring butterfly

As I was packing stuff to take on my trip to the US, I found my once-beloved SU's scrapbooking kit, Just Delightful. The colors somewhat resemble the Color Throwdown's colors this week. I loosely interpreted their colors because I don't have Tempting Turquoise and Kiwi Kiss. I used Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery instead. I paper pieced the swirls free hand. The sketch is from CPS #120.

Stamps: Eclectic Summer StampTV Kit
Papers: Cameo Coral, Just Delightful SSK

Birthday surprises

I am so sad to see the Pink Pirouette color being retired. I just love it. I ordered a couple more packs of the paper and they should be on their way. Yay! I used to hate pink, but having three girly girls really changed my mind. If given that choice, all three would wear only pink all day from head to toe.

This is my card for the Card Patterns challenge #19 using Stamp Something's color combo this week. I used a smorgasbord of stamps for this card. The tree and bird stamps are from Unity. The branch is from Hero Arts and the sentiment is from the latest StampTV Eclectic summer kit. I used Memento Tuxedo Black and Angel Pink ink. The button and ribbon are from PTI.

CAS #19 cards

I've been admiring the cards for the Clean & Simple challenges over at SCS for awhile now and I'm glad to finally participate. For the first card, I used my Special Fathers set with the StampTV's color combo this week.

Papers: Chocolate Kiss by GinaK, Certainly Celery by SU
Inks: Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze, Close to Cocoa
Others: Baja Breeze ribbon, button by PTI

I inked up my very first Unity stamps for the second card using the SCS Color Combo this week (Baja Breeze, Ruby Red and White). I stamped the leaf stamp from Gratitude = Joy with Baja Breeze. The sentiment is from Birdie Inspiration, stamped with Ruby Red ink.

I will be making a bunch of both cards (with different sentiments) to give away as presents.

Another Moxie Fab and exciting day

I am so honored to win Moxie Fab's the value of vintage challenge! I am absolutely stunned to see my name because I saw all the competition and I wouldn't have picked mine as one of the best. I am so excited and just thankful to Cathy for noticing my work. I am still enjoying the fabulous prize I won from the Citrus Challenge win a couple of weeks ago.

Another reason I'm excited today is because it's my wonderful hubby's birthday today. I know this sounds like an exaggeration, but he is the best husband in the world. I am so blessed to have him and thank God everyday for the gifts in my life. Through Kris, God has made everything beautiful and precious in my life - from our 13-yr-marriage to our sweet girls, to my kind in-laws. I love him and I'm still baffled how such a godly, wonderful man could love me so unconditionally. It truly is a picture of God's grace and giving me gifts I don't deserve. Happy birthday, sweetie!

Special Fathers day cards

I finally got to play with my Special Fathers stamp set by GinaK Designs. I had so much fun using these, especially since just several months months ago, these were just ideas in my head. When I drew this grandfather clock, I had my dad in mind because he loves them. And the wall clock is exactly like the one we have hanging in our Croatian home.

I'm entering this to Verve's It's a Guy Thing challenge. I'm an equal opportunity stamper and love Verve's style, too. :-) I'm determined to win some of their stamp sets. And I'm also submitting this to the Fun Frilled challenge to celebrate dad.

Stamps: Special Fathers (GinaK)
Ink: White craft ink
Paper:
Special Fathers red paper pack, Black Onyx Pure Luxury CS by GinaK
Others: ribbon, button, Fiskars rounder punch

Sorry about the confusion...

When I offered the Bonus to my blog candy on my last post, I intended to reward those who come to my blog frequently, so the bonus was only open to those who left a comment on my original blog candy post. So, if you didn't think you qualified and left a message on both posts, you may hear from me about the Bonus candy in the mail if you're one of the first 5! I'm so sorry about this confusion. But, don't worry as I have planned another blog candy next week which will include my new stamp sets.

I have been having problems with the internet connection. Hopefully it'll get fixed soon, so I'll be able to post more regularly and join in the challenges again. I miss doing those. We'll be spending all day today getting all our doctor appointments done. It's one of our to-do lists when we come to America. And maybe make a stop or two at Micheal's or Joann's along the way :-). Have a great day!

Blog Candy Winner and a BONUS!

And the winner of the Squigglefly digistamps and a sampler of GinaK's Pure Luxury Cardstock, according to Random.org is... #9 Crystal.

Send me your mailing address, Crystal, via email (link on the left sidebar) and I will send you a sampler pack and the digistamps. And as a bonus to those who entered in the original blog candy post...the first 5 of you to leave me a comment here and send me their mailing address will also get GinaK's sampler pack. I love this paper so much that I want as many of you to try them out as possible. (By the way, I will send these out sometime after Wednesday. I got so busy packing for our trip to the US that I forgot to order the papers. But I know the wait will be worth it :-)).

Have a good weekend!

I'm back

It's been a crazy week. I had to pack some of my supplies for our summer trip to the US, so I haven't been able to make cards. Our flight from Croatia to Paris was late, so we missed our flight to Atlanta by a few minutes. The plane sat there for at least 20 mminutes when we arrived at the gate. I guess there are certain security protocols to follow, so they just couldn't open the door for us. We had to spend the night in Paris, but we didn't have enough time to go see the city with three tired kids. I'm just glad we're finally home.

I will post the winner of my blog candy a little bit later today, so there's still time to enter. I will close it right before I draw the winner. I just realized that I still have to order some of the GinaK papers I'm giving away. Oops :-), but they're known for fast shipping and excellent customer service, so no worries. I just LOVE these papers and I can't wait to share them with the winner.

Simple Wedding/Anniversary Card

Here's my easy peasy card that combines the Stamp Something (to use a wedding themed card) and Color Throwdown's colors of chocolate chip, pink passion and Glorious Green. I substituted Certainly Celery for the last one.

I used my own illustration of the bride and groom, which you can purchase from Squigglefly. I printed it to match the Pink Passion CS. The love sentiment is from The Angel Company, I believe.

If you want to try how to work with digistamps, you can download some freebies I offer. The links are on the left sidebar. I just found out one of my cards using my Blossom for Mom freebie digistamp won in the Paper Crafts Mag May Gallery challenge. I'm so excited and honored.

Scribble this challenge #1

This is my entry to Lisa Spangler's challenge, Scribble This. Her challenge is unique in a sense that she teaches you how to use your camera and you use what you learn on your projects. For this challenge, she gave a few pointers on how to use the White Balance feature of your camera.

I used my own illustration (avaiable thru Squigglefly), which was inspired by one of my favorite photos of my hubby and youngest daughter. I added the pig tails on my drawing because my DD saw the original and said, "I look like a boy."

First, it's the Auto white Balance setting:

Indoor Lighting Setting

Sun Setting

With the Flourescent Setting

Taken Outdoors

I have lots more to learn about white balance. Taking pictures with natural light is always my favorite. I hope to play around more with the camera this summer.

Flourish meets the Pink Elephant meets Moxie Fab

Here's my card for Flourishes' Timeless Tuesday challenge to use frames and The Pink Elephant's color challenge to use pink, brown and white (in my case, it's off-white). Since I also used vintage lace and buttons, I'm entering this to Moxie Fab's value of vintage challenge.

Stamps: Happy Mail, Tweeterpated by TSG. Ink: White craft, Pink passion by SU Others: Love and Happiness rubons

I'm glad I got to play some more today. We're headed to the US in a few days and I seriously have to pack. I am trying to figure out how much of my craft room I will take with me ;-). If you have any ideas, please let me know.

Stylish Challenge

I've been a follower of Betsy's blog ever since I found it a few months ago. I just love her shabby chic style and her blog is just full of wonderful inspirations and small glimpses of her family life. Her blog is just one of those happy places I go to whenever possible. Betsy just issued a Stylish Challenge, where she asks you to look for stylish inspirations online and incorporate them on your card. I love this challenge because it' something I do already.

Here are my inspirations. I'm sorry that I forgot to take note of where I got them. So, if these look familiar, please let me know.

r

And here's my card:

I just love that frame with the different patterns in the third picture. I tried to copy that same on my card. The sentiment is something I designed and can be available for purchase through Squigglefly. I reduced the size to fit in my curly label punch. The DPs are from PTI, SU and Basic Grey.
